Thomas Gerald Edstrom Tuesday, January 16, 1951 - Wednesday, May 31, 2017
Frewsburg, NY - Thomas G. Edstrom, 66, of Anderson Road, Town of Carroll, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at home of natural causes. He was born January 16, 1951 in Jamestown, the son of the late Karl and Marilyn Johnson Edstrom. Tom attended Jamestown Central School, served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era, serving in Germany from January 13, 1970 to November 26, 1971. He then received his Associates degree in applied sciences from Jamestown Community College. He retired from WCA Hospital, where he worked from 1996-2012, earlier on he had worked at the Riverside Rendering Plant in Frewsburg from 1977-1996. He was a former member of the Kennedy Baptist Church. Tom enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, hunting, fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife; Rebecca L. (Ruth) Edstrom, whom he married on April 8, 1977 in Jamestown, two sons; Kevin (Paige) Edstrom of Ridge Manor, FL and Paul Edstrom of Stubenville, OH., a grand daughter, Hannah Edstrom of Ridge Manor, FL., two brothers; Randy Edstrom of Jamestown and Mark Edstrom of Westfield, Mass., two sisters; Chris (John) Haskins of Lakewood and Karen (Carl) Lundburg of Sherman. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday (June 4, 2017) in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph. The family will receive family and friends two hour prior to the service at 3 PM. Pastor John Knowles Condon will officiate. Burial Inurnment will be in the Corydon Riverview Cemetery, Corydon, PA.
