Frank A. "Stinky" Wicks Friday, November 10, 1933 - Monday, October 9, 2017

Jamestown, NY – Frank A. “Stinky” Wicks, 83, of Route 241, Randolph, passed away Monday (October 9, 2017 in WCA Hospital. He was a retired Electrical Engineer with Alcoa (Borden) Inc. in Randolph. He was born November 10, 1933 in Goshen, NY, the son of the late Selah and Sara (Pulling) Wicks. Frank was a 1952 graduate of Randolph Central School and then served in the United States Airforce during the Korean Conflict from June 11, 1953 until his honorable discharge on May 4, 1957, where he received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He retired from Alcoa (Borden, Inc.) in Randolph, where he was an Electrical Engineer. Frank’s career took him globally and he traveled with work to all of Europe, Russia, Thailand, South Africa and many parts of South and North America. Frank was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Randolph, where he served as a member of the Vestry, Randolph American Legion Post 181, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6533 in East Randolph and he was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge and the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 359 in Randolph. Frank enjoyed golfing, reading, hunting and was a fan and former season ticket holder of the “Buffalo Billies”. Jake and Helen Lilie were instrumental in Frank’s formative years, Frank spent and abundance of time with them, showing and riding horses and also taking their son Jackie for many, many rides and adventures on their horse farm in East Randolph. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Audrey J. Farrell Wicks, whom he married on September 1, 1962, a daughter; Jeanette E. Wicks-Christie and husband Jeff of Zelienople, Pa., two grandchildren; SSGT Nathaniel Booker of Ft. Carson, CO, Alisha Booker of Zelienople, Pa., and a great grand-daughter, Katherine Elaine Booker and a sister; Celia Bolyard of Madison, Wisc. As well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six siblings, Julian Wicks, Zeno Wicks, John Wicks, Sara Arnold, Alfred Wicks and Laurence Alec Wicks. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 14, 2017 in the Grace Episcopal Church in Randolph, where the family will be received one hour prior. Full Military Honors by Randolph American Legion Post 181. Arrangements are entrusted to the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home in Randolph.
