Elinor M. Luce Ruth Tuesday, March 29, 1927 - Sunday, June 18, 2017

Elinor M. Luce Ruth, 90, of Southaven, MS, formerly of Main Street, Randolph, passed away Sunday June 18, 2017 at the Desoto Baptist Hospital in Southaven. Elinor was born March 29, 1927 in Little Valley, NY, the daughter of the late Charles William and Freda Adele (Hollister) Luce. She attended Little Valley Central School and retired from Arrance’s (R & M) Restaurant In Randolph, where she waitressed and was a cook. In years prior, she had worked at Corning Glass in Bradford, Pa., the former Borden, Inc. in Little Valley and the former National Worsted Mills in Falconer, NY. Elinor was a former member of the Little Valley Congregational Church. She was a member of the Randolph American Legion Auxiliary Unit 181, where she was a Gold Star Mother, Randolph Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6533 Auxiliary and was a member of the former Randolph Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 2273. She was an avid bowler and golfer. She is survived by a daughter; Melodie J. Ruth of Southaven, MS, a grandson; Jamie Ruth of Colorado, two great-grandchildren; Samantha and Michael Ruth. a brother, Gary Luce. She was preceded in death her husband, Wayne T. Ruth, whom she married on March 29, 1950 in Corydon, Pa. and who preceded her on December 27, 1996, a daughter; Mary Ruth in 2017 and a sister; June Ullman and a brother, Alfred Luce. As per Elinor’s request, visitation will not be observed. A Celebration will be held at a later date with a date and time to be announced. Inurnment will be in the Corydon Riverview Cemetery, Corydon, Pa. Arrangements are entrusted to the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, Randolph. I wanted to tell the family, I am so very sorry. The family will not know my name, but may know the the name Irene Russ, my mother: and Mabel and Marve Russ my

So sorry to hear about your Mom, she was a Lady ,well known to all. She loved people an I enjoyed talking with her , bowling, an just having fun times at Legion-VFW- an Moose .
