Barbara J. Bowen Friday, June 10, 1938 - Monday, July 3, 2017

Steamburg, NY - Barbara J. Bowen, 79, of West Perimeter Road, Steamburg, Town of Coldspring, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017 at UPMC-Hamot Hospital. In Erie, Pa. She was born June 10, 1938 in Kane, Pa. the daughter of the late Vaulette Warren Keesler and Loretta May Reynolds Rice. Barbara was raised by her mother and step father Grafton Rice. She attended Randolph Central School. She retired from Bush Industries in Jamestown and also had worked for Union National Furniture, Maddox Table and National Worsted Mills. She enjoyed spending time with family, crocheting and flower gardening. She is survived by her husband and companion of 50 plus years, Ronald Allen Bowen, three sons; Richard (Mary) Pierce and Bennett (Noreen) Pierce all of Napoli, and Vernon Pierce Sr. of Steamburg, three daughters; Regina Annells of Warren, Pa., Tina (Patrick) Hodges of Gerry and Wanda (Harold) Lobb of Busti, an adopted son, Ronald Honey of Steamburg, a sister; Vauletta Pierce of Hollywood Hills, Fla. , 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by a grandson, Wayne Wilson in 2013, a daughter-in-law, Carlen Pierce in 2008 and a brother, Wayne Keesler in 1978. The family will receive family and friends from 5-9 P.M. Friday (July 7, 2017) at the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph. Funeral services will be at the Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M> Saturday. Burial will follow in the Steamburg Cemetery, Steamburg, NY. Ron and family, I am so sorry for your loss.  Barb was a wonderful woman and I love this picture of her.  My thought and prayers are with all of you.
